East Tennessee coach Maury Bartow started the following lineup: 6-4 Jr. Lester Wilson, 6-2 So. AJ Merriweather, 6-7 So. Isaac Banks, 6-0 Jr. Petey McClain, and 6-3 Sr. Rashawn Rembert.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Jeff Neubauer countered with 6-7 Sr. Timmy Knipp, 6-7 Jr. Ja’Mill Powell, 6-8 Sr. Eric Stutz, 6-2 Sr. Corey Walden, and 6-4 So. Jaylen Babb-Harrison.

East Tennessee led by 18 points with 7:37 left in the game and survived a furious rally to defeat Eastern Kentucky 63-60.  East Tennessee shot 42% from the field including 15 of 34 from the three point line.  The Buccaneers connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 14 Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 40% from the field including 10 of 31 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on six of eight free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 20 East Tennessee turnovers.

Rashawn Rembert led East Tennessee with 30 points including nine three point baskets.  Lester Wilson added 15 points including four three point baskets.  Isaac Banks recorded six points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

Eric Stutz led Eastern Kentucky with 13 points and eight rebounds.  Corey Walden added 13 points, five rebounds, three assists, and four steals.  Jaylen Babb-Harrison recorded 11 points including three three point baskets, four rebounds, and four assists.  6-5 Jr. Denzel Richardson chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.
