Ballard coach Frank Wright started the following lineup: 5-7 Sr. Aundrea Matchen, 5-4 Sr. Brandi Ray, 5-10 Sr. Javonna Layfield, 5-3 8th grader Briana Mishler, and 5-6 Jr. Alex Martin. Eastern coach Josh Leslie countered with 5-8 So. Markeia Porter, 5-8 Sr. Jade Spaulding, 6-0 Sr. Claire Hart, 5-7 So. Shavia Thompson, and 5-10 Sr. Madison Raque.
Eastern trailed 37-36 after three quarters but rallied to defeat Ballard by a score of 56-49. Eastern shot 36.65 from the field including eight of 21 from the three point line. The Lady Eagles connected on 18 of 35 free throws, pulled down 28 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Ballard turnovers. Ballard shot 36.6% from the field including one of 10 from beyond the arc. The Lady Bruins connected on 18 of 26 free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored seven points off seven Eastern turnovers.
Madison Raque led Eastern with 17 points including three three point baskets. Claire Hart added 13 points and Jade Spaulding chipped in with 10 points.
Javonna Layfield led Ballard with 22 points including 12 of 14 free throws, 13 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Alex Martin added eight points.
