Sayre  vs.  Scott County (Girls)

Sayre coach Scotty Sutton started the following lineup: 5-7 Jr. Holly Manella, 5-7 Jr. Hadyn White, 6-3 Jr. Gabby Bowie, 5-6 8th grader Sydney Strup, and 5-4 Sr. Cammie Croney-Clark.  Scott County coach Steve Helton countered with Lauren Boehm, 5-8 Sr. Laura Szorenyi, 6-0 Jr. Tereka Guyn, 5-7 Jr. Danielle DeFoor, and 5-6 Jr. Audriana Christopher.

Scott County raced out to an early lead and was never threatened in a 71-29 victory over Sayre.  Scott County shot 44.8% from the field including nine of 26 from the three point line.  The Lady Cardinals connected on two of six free throws, pulled down 39 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 24 Sayre turnovers.  Sayre shot 27.9% from the field including zero of one from beyond the arc.  The Lady Spartans connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored four points off 10 Scott County turnovers.

Tereka Guyn led Scott County with 18 points, five rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Danielle DeFoor added 15 points including three three point baskets.  Audriana Christopher recorded nine points, six rebounds, 10 assists, and five steals.  Laura Szorenyi chipped in with nine points and four steals.

Gabby Bowie led Sayre with 14 points and eight rebounds.  Molly Manella added seven points.

Scott County     25  20   17   9 – 71

 

Sayre (29) – Manella 7, White 4, Bowie 14, Strup 2, Croney-Clark 0, Klus 2.

 

Scott County (71) – Boehm 4, Szorenyi 9, Guyn 18, DeFoor 15, Christopher 9, Hawkins 5, Heinrich 8, Young 3.
