Lexington Catholic coach Chelsea Chowning started the following lineup: 6-0 Jr. Alex Botkin, 5-10 Jr. Emily Johns, 6-0 Jr. Elizabeth Walton, 5-7 Jr. Bonnie Rhule, and 5-8 So. Octavia Wilson.  Tates Creek coach Justin Cheatham countered with 5-8 So. Dominique Etling-Turner, 5-9 So. Katie Pippen, 6-1 Jr. Peyton Hisel, 5-5 Jr. Michelle Tichenor, and 5-6 So. Oney Harrison. (Note: The injury bug continues to plague Coach Cheatham as 5-5 So. Lexi Whaley and 5-3 Jr. Michaela Drake were not available tonight due to injuries.

Laxington Catholic defeated Tates Creek tonight 70-52 in a game that was truly a game of surges.  Lexington Catholic raced out to a 21-5 lead after the first quarter but Tates Creek roared back behind 13 second quarter points by Oney Harrison to  take a 31-29 lead at halftime.  Lexington Catholic took control starting the third quarter with  a 13-0 run to take a 42-31 lead  on their way to a 55-38 lead after three quarters.  Tates Creek cut the margin to eight early in the final quarter but could never get any closer.

There were a total of 44 fouls called tonight (24 against Tates Creek and 20 against Lexington Catholic) with Hisel and Tichenor fouling out for Tates Creek and Wilson fouling out for Lexington Catholic.  Lexington Catholic shot 39.1% from the field including one of 12 from the three point line.  The Lady Knights connected on 19 of 27 free throws, pulled down 59 rebounds, and scored 29 points off 21 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 29% from the field including five of 23 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on seven of 19 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 27 Lexington Catholic turnovers.

Alex Botkin led Lexington Catholic with 26 points and 14 rebounds despite only logging 16:58 due to early foul problems.  Botkin was 11 of 19 from the field and four of four from the free throw line.  Octavia Wilson added 16 points, eight rebounds, and six assists.  Emily Johns recorded 10 points and 15 rebounds.  5-9 8th grader Rachel Blake was impressive coming off the bench to score nine points.

Oney Harrison led Tates Creek with 20 points including three three point baskets.  Dominique  Etling-Turner added 12 points and six rebounds.  Peyton Hisel recorded eight points, nine rebounds, and six blocked shots.  Katie Pippen chipped in with six points and nine rebounds.  Michelle Tichenor added six points, four rebounds, and six steals.
