Bowling Green KY March 14th Day 4

Casey County  (29-3)  vs.  Iroquois  (31-1) (Semifinal)  -  Iroquois scored 25 points off 26 Casey County turnovers in a 52-43 victory.  Iroquois also held a 15-4 advantage in second chance points.

Iroquois shot 38.3% from the field including three of seven from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on 13 of 23 free throws and pulled down 24 rebounds.  Casey County shot 48.5% from the field including zero  of eight from beyond the arc.  The Lady Rebels connected on 11 of 12 free throws, pulled down 24 rebounds, and scored six points off 13 Iroquois turnovers.

5-9 Sr. Adia Mathies led Iroquois with 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.  5-5 Sr. Kayla Hickman added 10 points including two three point baskets.  5-6 Sr. Asia Mathies recorded six points and six steals.

5-11 Fr. Megan Pittman led Casey County with 14 points and six rebounds.  5-5 Sr. Kayla McFarland added 10 points.  5-7 Sr. Lauren Hatter chipped in with nine points.

Henderson County  (24-5)  vs.  Elizabethtown  (32-2)  (Semifinal)  -  Elizabethtown outscored Henderson County 23-8 in the third quarter on their way to a 57-33 victory.  Elizabethtown shot 47.7% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Panthers connected on 10 of 13 free throws, pulled down 35 rebounds, and scored 11 points off eight Henderson County turnovers.  Henderson County shot 25.5% from the field including two of nine from beyond the arc.  The Lady Colonels connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored three points off nine Elizabethtown turnovers.

6-0 Sr. Alex Jones led the victors with 19 points and nine rebounds.  5-11 So. Adelaide Luckett added 12 points.  5-9 Sr. Dorian Downs chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.

6-1 Sr. Alyse Poindexter led Henderson County with 10 points, nine rebounds, and five blocked shots.  5-9 Sr. Olivia Fruit added six points.

Elizabethtown  (33-2)  vs.  Iroquois  (32-1) (Championship)  -  Iroquois defeated Elizabethtown 55-47 in overtime to complete the journey that Coach Northington started several years ago when he was hired to resurrect a program that had fallen on hard times.  This was not an easy journey as he had to defeat a strong well-coached Elizabethtown squad as well as compensate for the loss of one of his key players 5-5 Sr. Stafonia Taylor who went down with an injury earlier in the tournament.

Iroquois shot 37% from the field including five of 15 from the three point line.  The Lady Raiders connected on 16 of 28 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Elizabethtown turnovers.  Elizabethtown shot 42.9% from the field including five of 11 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Panthers connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down 27 rebounds, and scored 11 points off nine Iroquois turnovers.

5-6 Sr. Asia Mathies led the victors with 15 points, four assists, and three steals.  5-8 Sr. Meka Birdsong added 12 points.  Tourney MVP 5-9 Sr. Adia Mathies recorded 10 points and eight rebounds.  5-5 Sr. kayla Hickman also reached double figures with 10 points.  5-8 Jr. Victoria Brown chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds.

6-0 Sr. Alex Jones led Elizabethtown with 18 points and 11 rebounds.  5-10 Sr. Terra Lucas and 5-11 So. Adelaide Luckett added 11 and eight points respectively.
