LINDA DRAPER'S EYE for detail and mastery of technique create images
that seem to speak directly to the viewer. Like a skillful storyteller who
never gives away the punch line before reaching the end of the tale,
a Draper portrait presents it's subject with clarity and focus
without overshadowing the elements around it.

DRAPER HAS EARNED ACCLAIM from the start of her Career. Graduated
with honors from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena,
California in 1985. She was a winner in the Society of Illustrators Annual
Competition, New York, in that same year. As a Commercial Illustrator
in Manhattan, she was commissioned to produce works by clients that
include Radio City Music Hall, and Harper & Row, Collins.

THE DESIRE TO CREATE works of lasting value led Linda to move from
commercial illustration and concentrate her talents on portraiture and
historical documentation. Working from photographic reference and
sketches, she uses a painstaking smooth layering technique to produce
her finished art. It's not unusual for Linda to spend as much as
400-600 hours on a single piece.

DRAPER'S COMMISSIONED WORKS HANG in the Norwegian Embassy,
Washington D.C., the Christian Broadcasting Network (CBN), the offices of
W.M.Jordan, and the new Funari Building for special honor guard,
Washington D.C. NASA has commissioned four pieces that hang in the
Kennedy Space Center Museum, and Lewis Research Facility, Cleveland,
Ohio. Her art has been part of The National Museum for Women in
the Arts, Washington D.C., and now our Nation's Art Train.(next to works
by Worhol, Rockwell, Wyeth, Max, & Rauschenberg).

WHEN SHE IS NOT PAINTING, she is drawing. Linda has created a unique
style in pencil as well. Look closely and you will be amazed by the
vertical and horizontal strokes that make up the photorealistic image
By adding light and heavy pressure to the pencil lines
she creates an image like no one else.

A WOMAN OF ABUNDANT ENERGY and curiosity, Linda's philosophy
of life and work are intertwined. She shares an affinity for this quote by
Saint Francis of Assisi, "he who works with his hands is a laborer;
he who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman;
he who works with his hands, and his head, and his heart is an artist."
