Great change has come into Gabriel Knight's life. He is now an lycanthrope--a werewolf. He is bonded to the founder of his bloodline--Baron Frederich von Glower--and it is a joining of heart and spirit, as well as flesh. Gabriel is happy in his new life, but can he still fullfil his duties as a Schattenjaeger, now that he has been touched by darkness?

Fate is offering him a test. An elderly woman contacts him, claiming that her great-grandson has been kidnapped by faeries--and a changeling left in his place. She begs the Schattenjaeger to return the child.
