KC - I agree - a painful episode, for sure. I think I looked at the clock at 9:25 - the point when David picked up the hitchhiker. That means that about 2/3 of ths show was devoted to the abduction (if that's the right term). Way too much - and to what end? The only thing I can think of is the connection to that early scene, where Keith basically calls David weak/insecure (or some such thing). That trait certainly played out during the entire episode (how humiliating was the "suck it" scene?) I know that no one knows how they will react in a situation like that (besides the fact that no sane person would pick up a hitchhiker on an LA freeway - hello?). But fuck it - if I'm the "prisoner" of some psychopath, I'm going down fighting. Whether I live or die is nothing but chance anyway, and who's to say that I stand a better chance of living if I passively go along with the psychopath's plan? Like I said - fuck that - I'm doing as much damage as possible, and whatever happens happens.
Anyway, here's a little "behind the scenes" from that particular episode (I'm a geek and subscribe to the Six Feet Under on-line newletter). Its actually pretty interesting.
