I'm fairly indifferent about most things, but there's one vice that I have that I'm deeply ashamed of. TV. I watch way too much TV. I used to be a book junkie, but grad school squashed any interest I used to have in extended periods of time spent with a book in hand. Now, I watch TV. You may have noticed the link to Television Without Pity over on the left there. It's not a mistake. I'm on that site daily. DAILY. That's problematic, yes?
It's gotten to the point where I write things down on my desk calendar at work. For example: yesterday, the seventeenth, reads "QESG". This of course refers to the new season of Queer Eye which began last night.
The twenty-second reads "SATC", which lets me know that Sex and the City will finally be saying good night after six seasons.
The twenty-ninth has one word: Oscars.
I recognize the problem and I can actually feel my IQ dropping with each hour of television that I watch...but I just...can't...stop....It's so pretty...the colors, the noise, the people. I just want more! The other day I had a hissy fit because our cable package doesn't include BBC America and that means I can't watch The Office. Commie bastards! Give me The Office! Ahem. Sorry.
Hi. I'm a TV Junkie. Nice to meet you.
