CYCLES
Women in the Arts Showcase

RECEPTION: Sunday February 7, 1999 1-4pm

Join us on Sunday, February 7th, 1999 for the opening reception from 1-4pm of CYCLES Women in the Arts Showcase curated by Cristina Buschiazzo. The reception is free and open to the public for viewing and spirited discussion of the work with the group. Cycles is a newly formed group of twenty talented visual and performing artists who meet regularly in the North/Central Jersey area to discuss art and related issues. Their dynamic and exciting work will be presented at this group show running from February 1-27th at the Watchung Arts Center in Watchung. This showcase exhibition will feature contemporary visual art: fiber arts, paintings, ceramics, drawings and jewelry.

Christina_Buschiazzo_-_1_small.JPG (9391 bytes)Cristina Buschiazzo is a versatile artist whose works range from figurative to abstraction. Most of her paintings emanate from a solitary quest inspired from an emotional approach. This Uruguayan artist graduated from Continental School and after obtaining her certification in Fine and Commercial Arts moved to the US. Since then (1992) she has been exhibiting and showing all over the tri-state area and has won numerous awards for her paintings. She was selected as a finalist to exhibit at the SOHO Art Mine in 1998. Cristina has continually widened her list of shows and awards while teaching and gathering artists together to share and compare talents. She co-founded CYCLES Women in the Arts because of her love of art and artists.

The Watchung Arts Center is pleased that Cristina has brought her extraordinary group to show in our Galleries. With many awards and articles written about her work and her group, we are sure to have a special view of Women in the Arts. The gallery hours open Mondays through Saturdays from 1-4pm. Stop in any time and pick up our newsletter for scheduling and performances. We serve the community in a number of ways from presenting programs in life drawing and photography, classes and a fine array of evening entertainment including, Jazz, Folk, Diva, Acoustic Blues and Comedy.
