The Governor’s FY 04 budget has proposed elimination of the Council on
the Arts, the Historical Commission and the Cultural Trust, including
all staffing, administration, grants and programs of the agencies.
This action must be reversed and full funding to
these agencies restored. While it has been reported that the
Governor has considered restoring some funds, it is important to note
that the state budget for arts and history remains at $0.
