Reception  February 7th, 1999  1 - 4 pm

The February art exhibits will run February 1-27th, 1999 at the Watchung Arts Center. This month we will have two crafters on display in the foyer. The opening reception for our Artists will take place on Sunday, February 7th from 1-4 PM. This gives the community an opportunity to view the art work and spend some time speaking to the artists about their work and careers. There is no fee for the reception and light refreshments will be served.

Laura Flashberg has tried a variety of crafts, from beading to sewing. Then she found dollmaking. Laura seems to be calmed and finds dollmaking therapeutic. Her dolls are made with love and Laura’s talent for crafts. Laura lives with her husband in Elizabeth.

Sandy Watts started with a concern for her family’s health and safety, and moved into making this a craft. Inspired to create soaps using natural ingredients grown from her herbal garden, Sandy found a craft. The soaps Sandy creates not only have natural ingredients but their fragrances are long lasting and the soaps are creatively packaged. Sandy and her family live in North Plainfield.
