On View: March 30 until April 30, 1999 Reception: Sunday April 11 1-4pm |
The April 1999 show in the Upper Gallery of the Watchung Arts Center is titled, "PARADIGM SHIFT: An Exhibition of Artwork by Members of the Life Drawing Studio Group". The show will feature an eclectic assortment of artwork by nine Claire Heimarcks Collages Remanence and Reclamations at the Watchung Art Center April 1999current members of the Group. Works include drawings, paintings, photographs, relief sculpture and mixed media. While some of the pieces represent work conceived during the Group's studio sessions, the majority of the exhibit consists of artwork that each artist has executed on his/her own, outside of the group setting.
The Life Drawing Studio Group has been in residence at the Arts Center for over two and a half years. Members of the Group are dedicated to continually developing their drawing skills, and share an appreciation of working from the human figure. The Group meets at the Arts Center four times each month (on alternate Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings) for studio sessions, during which each artist explores the drawing experience on a personal level.
"PARADIGM SHIFT", curated by Brian Vestin, includes the artwork of: Ralph Garafola, Patrick Healy, Linda Kolar, Margaretta Lear-Svedman, Patrice Monaghan, Cathy Pawlowski, Maria Poliner, Brian Vestin, and Mary Zink.
The show will hang from March 30 to April 30. The reception will be held on Sunday, April 11, from 1 to 4 PM.
The gallery hours open Mondays through Saturdays from 1-4pm. Stop in any time and pick up our newsletter for scheduling and performances.
