This is not really a phase, but it is a crucial part of the game. After you have hit something, either by shooting, or by combat, you role to wound. To do this you take the weapons strength, and the enemy's toughness, and use a chart to determine what you need to role to wound. If you wound the enemy, he looses a wound. This means that if he has more than one wound, but he only takes one, he will not be dead, unless the weapon's strength is twice his toughness, or more. If this is the case, if he takes one wound, he is dead, because the weapon is so powerfull. When someone takes a wound, they don't die right away. There is a chance that their armor can save them. When someone has been wounded, you role for his armor save. If you role equal to or above it, his armor has saved his life. If you role under the save value, he takes the full force of the hit. Sometimes a weapon is so powerfull that it goes right through the targets armor. It the AP value of the weapon is less than that of the save value, then the shot punches right through the armor, and you don't get a save. |
