Thank you for visiting DetroitPix!!! I'm Greg Kacir, AKA EZZ, 59 year old of Czechslovakian descent. I was born in Detroit and now live there. This is the 3rd time I've bounced back. I've also lived in Hamtramck. Birmingham, W. Bloomfield, Royal Oak, Ferndale and Warren.
I tried rehabbing two different houses in Detroit's infamous Empowerment Zone, only to have the City of Detroit mistakenly bulldoze both of them.
I created the original DetroitPix website in 2001. I stopped maintaining it in 2006. I originally put up the site hoping it would improve the City of Detroit. Did it help? I think so. Detroit has experienced a definite upswing since 2001. After a 6 year hiatus, I have completely updated Detroitpix in November of 2012. Thus, my mission is still the same; to document the sucesses and failures of Detroit since 2001 and beyond. To zoom-in on the old and new infastructure of Detroit and stir interest in the City.
