Character
Background:
Tyro Redwood was born in the small village of Pommeville which lies on the
border between the Kingdom of Cazia and the Dragon's Tooth Mountains to
the west of Cazia. His father was a blacksmith and his mother was a
seamstress and Tyro intended to lead a simple life following in his
father's footsteps. Just before his 20th birthday a menacing Ogre which
called itself Nogward lead a group of brigands in a raid against the
helpless village of Pommeville. The town was overrun and Nogward chose to
stay there and enjoy what the town had to offer before he moved on to sack
another poor community.
Distraught the people of Pommeville
sent for help from the Mage Knights of Cazia who were based in the city of
Arken, at the center of the Kingdom of Cazia. Help came in the form of the
dwarf known only as Grenshaw, one of the oldest Mage Knights to still
answer the call to duty. Grenshaw tricked Nogward into the open and
engaged him in one-on-one combat. The battle raged between the two for
several hours as each tried desperately to gain an advantage over the
other. As the last light of day began to fade Nogward managed to land a
sound blow against Grenshaw and sent the graying warrior to his knees.
Laughing with evil intent Nogward raised his mighty club and prepared to
smash him into oblivion when the young Tyro came to Grenshaw's aid.
Grabbing the Mage Knight's sword he thrust the weapon into the exposed
belly of the Ogre. Nogward howled in pain as Grenshaw managed to shake
himself into action and he summoned his magic to blast the Ogre into dust.
Grenshaw was very impressed with
Tyro's courage in the face of danger and after spending some time with him
he recognized the boy's potential to be a great Mage Knight if he received
the proper training. Two weeks later Grenshaw left with Tyro to return to
the city of Arken where Tyro would begin his training. Tyro spent the next
five years training in not only the ways of the warrior but also the arts
of wizardry. Now Tyro Redwood has completed his initial training and has
been inducted into the ranks of the Mage Knights of Cazia.
