- Start up
Flash, and Create
a new document. Make the work area a comfortable
size or just use the default setting. To change the work size, Go to
Modify>Movie then enter desired width and height and click OK, (
I used 250 wide by 100 high)
- With the
text tool, click in the work area and type out
some word. (Make it a size that's easy to work with.)
- Convert
your text to a symbol
( Click on your text to select it. Now go to Insert > convert to
symbol). Name it "textfade." For behavior choose "Graphic."
If you see a little cross hair in the middle of your selection, then
you know it's a symbol.
- Create
a second keyframe
where you want your animation to end. ( Right click on
frame 10 and choose "Insert Key Frame". For a "fade in"
you will click on frame 1, For a "fade out" click on frame
10. For this lesson click on frame 1. Go to Modify>instance, Select
the Effect tab. For Effect choose Alpha. Click on the Alpha fader and
drag to 0, then click OK. You
may also move the text, if you wish. Or change its size, using the transform
panel, if you want.
- To add the
fade motion choose Window > Panels > Frame. For
tweening, select Motion. from the pop down menu and click OK.
Make sure frame 1 is still selected.
- The timeline
should indicate a completed motion teen ( solid arrow on light purple
background). To see your creation, Hit enter,
select Control > play, or drag the red rectangular player head across
the timeline to preview your animation. To see it actually play, choose
test movie to preview it in your browser.
