Band Website Project

For this project, you will see what it is like to be hired as a website designer in real life. You will be given the task of creating a website to promote a band..

Just like with a real website project, your client has given you some instructions that are very specific about what he wants and some things about the website that are totally up to your artistic vision. He wants the following pages on the band's website:

• Intro page
• News. If you choose not to have an Intro page, the News page needs to be the first page visitors come to.
• Pictures. Use what you learned about thumbnails to create an interesting gallery out of the pictures.
• Bio
• Shows
• Music. The client wants a list of the songs on their current CD with mp3s of three of the songs on the site. On the music page, he also wants a link to where people can buy the CD.
• Lyrics
• Reviews
• Q & A, interview, or FAQ page

On the bottom of every page, he wants the email contact information for the band along with the following copyright statement: All music and band photographs are Copyright © date Record Company. Website design and layout Copyright © 2004 <your name>. And the band's logo should appear somewhere on the website (preferably on every page, maybe incorporated into the navigation).

The artwork and design (colors, typefaces, navigation scheme, rollover states, images, graphics, photographs, animations, etc.) that you choose to use are totally up to you, but of course the choices you make should complement the band's musical style.

You will create a folder in which to keep everything for the website.
