Pad See Ew
Topic: Noodles
Pad see ew is a sweet noodle usually served in Thai restaurants. Basically, it is made with sweet soy sauce, garlic, broad rice noodles, chinese broccoli, egg, and some form of meat or chicken. I tried to make one yesterday for our Iftar but I did not able to find chinese broccoli so I used spinach instead of it.

Ingredients:
2 tbsp. sugar
1 cup beef, thinly sliced
3 tbsp. light soy sauce
2 tbsp. dark soy sauce
1 tbsp. fish sauce
3 cloves garlic, chopped
250 g flat rice noodles(follow the package direction of cooking)
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vinegar
2 tbsp. cooking oil
some spinach, trimmed
ground chilli peppers (optional)

Directions:
1. Mix the beef and vinegar.
2. Heat a wok to high heat and then add oil. Drop in the chopped garlic and stir. Add the sliced beef. Stir to cook the beef. When the meat is somewhat cooked, add rice noodles. Stir, add light and dark soy sauce, fish sauce and sugar.
3. Stir to mix the seasonings into the noodles and beef. Open a spot in the middle of the pan, and drop the 2 eggs in. Scramble the eggs until it is almost all cooked (not watery any more). Fold in the noodles and mix them all.
4. Add the spinach, stems first, then the leaves. As soon as the spinach is cooked, turn off the heat.
5. Put on a serving plate and sprinkle ground chili peppers on top. Serve.

Boiled Crab
Topic: Crabs
I like boiled crab so much especially the one from Philippines, I used to eat it like I was playing with its claws while exctracting the meat from it. It is very rare to find good crabs here in Kuwait, that's why I missed Philippine crabs so much. Boiling the crabs is the most basic and common way to cook it,when I boil crabs at home I usually used Seven-Up or Sprite instead of water, I added few salt and sometimes crushed ginger, then I simmered it together until all the liquids are gone. I used little amount of liquid only so that by the time the crabs are cook, no liquids were left in the pot. Steaming is also good but it will take longer time to cook than this.

Chicken Burger
Topic: Snacks
We were in hurry to prepare for our Iftar yesterday since it was almost time to break our fast and we did not able to cook yet, so we decided to make chicken burger (ready to cook chicken burgers)since it was the quickest to prepare that came to my mind. My hubby like the burgers to be fried but I prefer it to be grilled since I can do something while grilling it, so I can save my time, aside from that, I can also save oil! LOL :) I let my sis Jong prepare it while I was preparing for the Pasta with Tuna Balls. I let her grill some and fry 2 burgers for my hubby. As usual, she rubbed mayonnaise on inner sides of each burger buns, put cheddar cheese squares, tomatoes, lettuce and tomato catsup, cover it with another half of burger buns, heated it in microwave for 30 seconds, and that's it! Our Iftar problem was solved!
