Staten Island :-(
Well my mind has been on the ferry tragedy ever since KYLE came into TB asking if I'd heard about it, around 5:00 this evening. All the horror stories I've heard and read about in the news--a couple of people with amputations, someone decapitated, someone drowning. Horrible! If you're ever ridden the SIF, you know the front of it is basically open. There's just like a little gate, maybe three feet tall (??) between you and the water, or in this case, the pier. That is just terrible. At least maybe they could see what was coming though. I don't know. What about the people sitting inside, by the windows? I'm sure many of them had no idea what was happening. I read in one article that's where most of the injuries occurred, in the main deck area. It also said some people jumped into the water, but all I can remember are all those wooden pilings around there. Anyway, it's a terrible tragedy, and since I just rode it three months ago, I guess it hits home a little more. Am I over-reacting? I just think it's terrible.

I'll update today's activities tomorrow.

"He said son can you play me a memory? I'm not really sure how it goes. But it's sad and it's sweet and I knew it complete, when I wore a younger man's clothes..."

Everybody Wants To Rule The (Blog-)World
What's going on? Well, I need to study for a bit this afternoon. I'm tired, but I haven't been taking afternoon naps the last week or so. So by 9:00 PM, I'm wiped. I was joking with someone earlier than my cell plan with "free minutes after 9:00" isn't helping me any, cos I'm asleep by then. lol So maybe I need some sort of senior citizens plan. Free minutes from 4PM until dark. lol

Had CHICK-FIL-A for lunch. It was good. It just about always is, although my waffle fries were cold. Went by and aired up my tire on the way home. Yes, I'd rather stop every two weeks and put a little air in it than to spend $400 for four new tires. lol I can't figure out what's wrong. No cuts, scratches, or foreign objects inserted into the tire. Maybe it's seeping out around the rim on the inside.

Here's a funny observation: I always get the Mountain Dews with the little contest caps on them. I've won quite a few free 20 oz. MD's, and yet I never redeem them. lol

Random thoughts I had while driving down the road yesterday...

"I think I know this road to and from work so well, that I could drive it with my eyes closed. Let's see." ROFL

"Doctors say the average human would live about ten days without sleep. Hmmm. I believe I will test out that theory." lol

Also just read today that the 80's duo TEARS FOR FEARS are reuniting. Wooohooo! That made my day. lol

"Please don't change. Please don't break. The only thing that seems to work at all is you. Please don't change at all, from me to you, and you to me, yeah..."

Farewell my summer love...
The end of summer... I know, summer's officially been over for three weeks. But it has still been pretty warm around here lately. It finally looks as though the cool temperatures have arrived. There's something sad about the end of summer. The vacations, the beach trips, all the outdoor activities of the past months, will always be remembered. But we'll never relive the summer of 2003. They're now just a part of our past--pages in our life we can flip thru, memories we can recall, stories we can retell, but moments we can never recreate. So as we see the passing of time, hopefully we realize the value of today. Let us live each day to its fullest and value every moment. Treat each person you see as if it's the last time you may ever have the chance to enjoy their presence. Why look to a future which we may never see, or cling to a past we can never go back to again? Today IS the yesterday we'll look back on fondly. It is the tomorrow that held so much hope and promise. But alas, there are good times ahead. I look forward to Christmas and Thanksgiving, seasons filled with love and family and friends. But something about the end of summer always makes me a little sad... sort of like the end of the weekend, to the 10th power.

This time of year always brings to mind the beach trip on Labor Day Weekend 1998. We actually stayed until Tuesday morning, but everyone else it seemed left Monday morning, to be back at work on Tuesday. And Monday night, I remember going into a convenience store which just the day before had been packed with people enjoying the weekend at the beach. But that night, I was the only customer. I commented to the cashier about how quiet and deserted everything was. She said it always got like that after Labor Day. It's funny how the same exact place can be so busy and lively and filled with people one day, and the very next be so deserted, quiet, and lonely.

It was interesting, a very profound moment, and a great trip, too. One of those summer trips you find yourself wishing you could recreate. Eh, maybe it's just me.

"But summer's gotten away from us. Time's moving too fast for us, bye bye. Don't turn around cause you might see me cry. Farewell my summer love. Farewell. Girl I won't forget you..."

Run, Forrest, Run
Nobody on the road. Nobody on the beach. I feel it in the air. The summer's out of reach...

Well this is the time of year when it starts getting tougher to stay fit, because it's getting cold and I don't like running in the cold. We'll see how I do this year though. I think I'm going to purchase a PILATES video to supplement my regular routine. My abs need work.

Unbelievable! The CUBS blow a 3-0 lead. The MARLINS score 8 runs in the 8th inning and win 8-3. Poor CUBS fans. lol Man, if FLORIDA wins tonight, that grounder that GONZALEZ botched will go right up there with BUCKNER'S blunder in '86. Hey Dusty, you think maybe you should take out your pitcher before he lets five straight hitters reach base and gives up 3 runs to tie the game? Nah!!! lol Let's bring in our stellar bullpen with the game tied, one out, and runners on second and third. I did read where a lot of fans were cursing, threatening, and throwing stuff at the fan who tried to catch the foul ball that ALOU was reaching for. The thing is, if you watched the game, there were like 25 people trying to catch that ball. lol

Anyway, the YANKEES won. Yay! They're up 3-2. Game Six this afternoon back in NY. Yes, I watched baseball yesterday. There was nothing else on. I finished up LAUNDRY last night. Ran to CARDINAL to get some dinner. I'm also proud to say I watched the last ten minutes of MISTER ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD yesterday afternoon. lol I remember when I was little I used to think the best thing ever would be to live in that neighborhood. Actually, it would still be cool. What?

"I can see you, your brown skin shinin' in the sun. I see you walkin' real slow and you're smilin' at everyone. I can tell you my love for you will still be strong, after the boys of summer are gone..."

Sure, suspend me, but not Kobe... lol
JON alerted me by IM today that my blog had been suspended. First time it's happened in about three weeks, so that's not too bad. Glad to be back.

Last night, I hooked up my old computer and played Tecmo Super Bowl on my Nintendo emulator. Oh man, that game rocks! Eight offensive and eight defensive plays to choose from, plus full-season accumulated stats. ROFL Woooooooooo!!

Work was kinda busy. It's always fun when I get to mix some stuff in WaveStation, although it is sometimes time-consuming. Had 13 audio files to mix today. That's about as many as it ever is. And part of me, of course, would rather be surfing the net. lol We got this little bulletin that we get each month with job listings in the industry. There are several. I'm really thinking about hitting the job search trail hard. It feels like time for a move.

Had some not-so-good lunch. That's OK though. Trying to get up a flag-football game or maybe even a team to join a league. Drop me a line if you're interested. SHANE e'd us today and said they're going to SIX FLAGS in ATL this weekend. I'm not sure if I'm gonna try to go or not. It's almost too cold. I'll freeze my ears off on those water rides.

Speaking of cold. It was warmer this morning at like 6 AM than it was when I walked out the door at work to come home. That's OK though, cos I had worn a long sleeved shirt today and was really beginning to wonder this morning if that was appropriate.

Got LAUNDRY started. That's about all that's going on this afternoon. Watching the YANKEES/RED SOX right now. YANKS up 3-0 in the 2nd babeee!! Garcia just drove in two runs. He's the guy PEDRO plunked the other night. Sweet, sweet justice.

Have you heard about this man selling plots of land on the moon for like $40 each? That sounds like something Shane would do. lol Might as well buy one. It's just $40. I drop that much in a week's time at APPLEBEES.

You're killing Independent Bone.. lol
"You have no idea of the magnitude of this thing. If she is allowed to infiltrate this world, then George Costanza as you know him, ceases to exist! You see, right now, I have Relationship George. But there is also Independent George. That's the George you know, the George you grew up with -- movie George, coffee shop George, liar George, bawdy George."

"I love that George."

"Me Too! But he's dying Jerry! If Relationship George walks through this door, he will kill Independent George! A George, divided against itself, cannot Stand!"

ROFL... I hope everyone saw "The Pool Guy" episode at 6:00 yesterday on TBS. Man, that is a top-tenner, all the way. George's worlds collide, and Kramer does the movie phone.

Well, everything is working (for now) here at Ruby Ridge Southeast. lol Had dinner with KIM last night. I'm not sure the MEXICAN was such a great idea... but oh well. lol Ended up watching more of "You've Got Mail" than I did the baseball game. lol Something is wrong with that picture. I just love that movie (sniff, sniff). lol "Don't cry, Shopgirl. Don't cry." And the fact that Meg Ryan is in it, definitely doesn't hurt.

I did watch a good bit of the baseball game, dozing off in the recliner, just as the Sox wrapped up the win. It's tied 2-2 now. Go YANKEES!!! I woke up at 2 AM and went and got in bed. I only saw one play of MNF last night. I turned over there and the Rams were kicking an extra point to make it 17-0 in the 2nd quarter. What a pathetic game.

Temps going down to around 40 tonight. I'm actually kinda ready for some cool weather. I'm sure I'll be tired of it within a couple of weeks though. lol

I have just been reading this story of the guy who poured gasoline into his laundry, thinking it would help get a paint stain out of his pants. Ended up destroying his apartment. That's interesting. Men just don't seem to know about stuff like that as much as women. Like, for instance, for the longest time, I just accepted the fact that all white laundry turned pink after two or three washes. And you just discarded it and bought something new. lol

Wooooooooooooo!!!

"Hey where did we go? Days when the rains came. Down in the hollow, playin' a new game. Laughing and a running hey, hey, skipping and a jumping. In the misty morning fog with our hearts a thumpin' and you, my brown eyed girl..."

Mister Productive
I was lying here about 3:00 today, after I got home from work, talking to AMBER on the phone, and I was thinking, "Boy am I tired. I could lie here and take a nap for an hour or so, or I could get up and go get a haircut, wash my truck, mow the grass, etc." So I opted to get some stuff done. I went and got my hair cut. On my way back, I stopped off at the car wash and sprayed off the truck. There was a HOTTIE there vacuuming out a Windstar. That was a little odd. She really didn't look old enough to have kids. lol Got home a little after 4:00, then I changed, stretched, and went RUNNING. Got back, showered, and ran to WAL-MART to pick up a few things. Saw MICHELLE up there. Got back just a few minutes ago. Sitting here watching SEINFELD. Going to eat at the MEXICAN restaurant at 7:00. Guess I'll come home and watch the YANKEES. I can't believe the stupid FALCONS are on MNF. It's bad they're on every single Sunday due to regional coverage in this area. Gripe, gripe, gripe... lol

SEIN, on scuba diving... "I even bought a waterproof watch. What a waste. Gee, I'm completely out of oxygen, and... look at the time. So I'm dead, and late." lol

I feel better today than I have in at least two or three weeks. Thanks to you all for your concern.

Don't miss "You've Got Mail" tonight at 7:00 Central on TBS, as well. lol I love that movie!!

Oh man!! The worlds colliding episode is on right now. Gotta go! This is a CLASSIC! It's also the one where KRAMER does the movie phone. ROFL

"Meet me in Memphis, that's where I'll be. I'm by the river please come back to me. Meet me in Memphis when your wild days are through. Nothin' replaces me... next to you..."

Quote of the day...
Man, if I had it to do all over, I'd give it all up just to go back and pursue those white-rapper dreams.

ROFL

I think we've all felt that way before. Oh wait. What? Well it's about lunch time I suppose. Sorry to post so much today, but I am BORED.

Little Nibbler is in no way associated with any white, west coast, east coast, gangsta, old school, mainstream, or other rap artist, record label, or producer. Word to ya mutha.

Whole lotta nothin' goin' on...
We are still down here at work. So nothing exciting has happened, not that it ever does. lol Doing my daily blog-scan, it looks like a few people are off work today for C-Day. As I was telling J-MO earlier today during an interesting online chat session, they're like the Soviet space program around here. Their theory is, the cheaper the better, with little or no regard for durability, reliability, or human life. Our World War II-era equipment doesn't seem to be performing too well here as of late.

Somehow, we got off on the subject of concubines, and I posed the question, "Why don't we have concubines anymore?" They had them in olden times. We came up with several theories... ranging from smaller houses to women's lib to too expensive. lol I, for one, am sort of glad. It's hard enough finding one wife. I'd hate to think I had to round up five or six concubines.

OK, the most popular search string for my site is definitely the AOL sting commercial. I got like 3 more hits from it. Also got a hit for Moulton, AL, and for Reese's Inside Out. See people, if you talk about what's happening and the current events in pop culture, your blog will receive hits. lol

MNF should be a thriller tonight--the Rams and Falcons. Oh joy. Hopefully, the YANKEES will be on at that time. And why have the Cubs already played five games, and the Yankees only 3? I know, one was rained out, but it seems like they'd keep them as even as they could, otherwise one team will have an advantage, most likely.

Well, that's all for now.

"Take me down to a Paradise City where the grass it green and the girls are pretty... take me home.. yeah yeah.."
