Fundamentals
To the Christian Faith
The opinions and
views in this section are not intended to preclude,
exclude or even include anyone from full participation in
the joy and peace that comes from experiencing the love
of God and of His Christ, Jesus, in the fellowship of the
Holy Spirit, which is His Church. R. Tilley
Fundamentals
There is only one God,
creator of all things in heaven and in earth. All things
were made by Him. All things were made good by Him. All
of creation, He made for His purpose, enjoyment and
satisfaction.
There is only one Savior of all mankind, Jesus Christ who
is God in human flesh. Who was not created but, always
was God.
He was born to earth, by the power of God, the Holy
spirit, and of the virgin Mary. He and He alone, paid the
penalty for our sin, death, even though He was without
sin.
He died on the cross, and was buried. He was resurected
back to life, breaking the bonds of sin and death for all
who would believe in Him. He ascended into heaven, and is
the advocate and mediator of all mankind; He is not apart
from the creator God, but one with God and in God, the
propitiation for our sin and the judge of all people. He
will return to earth again at the end of this present
age, to claim all things unto Himself.
There is one Holy Spirit, God, the power of God, the
presence of God, in heaven and on earth. It is the Holy
Spirit who is the revealer of God to our spirit, our
hearts, our minds and our will. He is one in God, with
the Creator and with Christ.
The collection of books, songs and letters which is
commonly known as the "Bible" is the Word of
God, written by men under the inspiration of the Holy
Spirit, and contains all things nescessary to salvation,
and living a life that is pleasing to God.
There is a heaven and there is a hell.
There is a devil, an evil one, who is the source of all
evil in the earth. He is not equal in any way to God, but
has been allowed to campaign on earth, even through which
God is able to prove the power and the glory, and the
grace and the love of God. The devil has been defeated in
his campaign on earth by the work of Jesus Christ on the
cross.
All persons have sinned and are in need of salvation,
Which is through Jesus Christ and Christ alone.
Is this an exhaustive list? Perhaps not. Many include
baptism as nescessary for salvation, but baptism is a
sacremental act, not a belief, and many who are baptized
are not true believers and are still living in
condemnation even as members of a church.
I've set out my thoughts, what are yours?
