March 13, 2001:

Part 5 of our on going series of jibber jabber.
In case you haven't heard, the long awaited new CD is Finally out! "BACK FROM THE GRAVE" has 15 songs including a live cover of The Ramones classic "Garden Of Serenity" featuring non other than Joey Ramone himself on vocals. Check out the discography section of the website for more info.

Now, 'bout them Queers. Ya got the infamous Joe Queer on vocals and Git, Justin (also known as lurch) on drums and Dangerous Dave on bass and, everybody's favorite "lost in the 70's kinda guy", Gino the Roadie.
For those of you who are completely unfamiliar with The Queers, I'll go ahead and answer the question that you're already thinking. No, The Queers are not. (Queers that is) Uh, well maybe Lurch is but we won't get into that.
Music wise you could say that they are a snottier version of The Ramones. Personally I really wasn't that familiar with them before this tour, but have to say that I am now a true hardcore fan of theirs. I think they have written the best, most appropriate punk songs ever called "This Place Sucks". You find yourself saying that alot on the road. To find out more about them, visit www.thequeers.com.

So on we go. Feb 9th we left West palm Beach, FL. and headed toward St Petersburg to play the State Theater. On t he way, we accidentally ran over a dead alligator and blew out a tire and severely damaged another one.
State Theater is another place that won't allow us to use our flashpots. It's this huge old movie theater with a high ceiling. We've set flashpots off at house parties with no problems so we surely wouldn't have a problem in a big ol dirty cement building. Oh well.
Next stop Atlanta. More problems with the van.
Broke down in some small town about an hour south of Atlanta. Overheating. A pipe was broken on the engine. We were gonna try to rent a Ryder truck but the guy at the shop we were at said (in a thick hick accent) Y'all evah heard of Mayberry? Welp, we aint even got Barney or Andy here.
Almost seemed like we were shit outa luck but this nice old redneck helped us literally glue the engine together and off we went. We were late as hell. When we got to The Echo Lounge, The Queers were just getting ready to go on cause they thought we weren't gonna make it. So we ran in with just our guitars and used their drums and amps and blasted out about 8 songs real quick. Teamwork for a successful show!
This was one of those clubs that definitely DOES NOT SUCK. Everybody was really cool and helpful and hospitable. Thanks very much to the staff at Echo Lounge.

Got a few more shows to talk about from this tour then I'll be done. Got a couple of dates right now in April.
April 18th at Roseland Ballroom in NYC with THE MISFITS and the next night in Passaic NJ at the Loop Lounge. More to be added. See ya next time and Thanks. Blackie
