February 27, 2001:
Bon jour, mon amis. Un bagel avec fromage de le creme. Oh. Sorry bout that.
Just got back from Queerbec, Canada and I cant get my favorite pick up line
out of my head. Basically it means "one bagel with cream cheese". The girls
up there just fall all over you when you say it. Go figure!
More about Canada later. I usually try to keep everybody informed about
life on the road as it happens, but this tour was so hectic and nonstop
that I'll just have to fill you in belatedly. In case you weren't paying
attention, The Independents have been on tour with THE QUEERS and DYNAMITE
BOY.
We kicked things off in Boston at TT The Bears.
Pretty much the first time all the bands had met each other. The place
was sold out. I didn't get to see too much of the show because the parking
around there sucks and we had to keep someone in the van at all times
because we were parked illegally.
Next stop, NYC.
Before I go any further, I just want everyone to know that what you are
reading is not necessarily the opinion of the entire band (or bands).
It is strictly mine.
FUCK NYC!!!
Thats right . FUCK IT!!!
especially CBGB'S.
Well, not the fans in NYC or the building itself. Just the worthless shits
who work there. The only decent individual was the sound man and they
are usually the shitheads. I don't remember his name but he looked native
American with two long pony tails. Thanks to him for being really helpful
while his coworkers walked around with their heads planted firmly in there
own assholes. They treated all the bands like it was the worse thing in
the world that they had to WORK because we were playing a show at the
club WHERE THEY WORK!!!!! Even the twerp whose only job was to stand by
the back door to make sure it is shut gave us a shitty attitude. Whats
kinda funny though is, Joey Ramone is usually with us when we play shows
in NYC. And when he is they all can't stick there noses far enough up
our butts. Unfortunately he was to busy to make it to this one. Ass kissing
losers. Don't forget, this is just my opinion. (but I'm usually right).
It was a really good show though. We got lots more shows to talk about
so Stay tuned over the next few days for more exciting Drama. See how
good we get treated in DC and find out why the tour gets nicknamed "Scrapple
Tour MMI"
