Alright, so once again, I am forced to re-format the introduction to this poetry site. I've been going through really weird ebbs and flows of poetry lately, where I won't write anything for months, and months, and months, and, all of a sudden, there's a ton in there.

Now, this can't all be thanks to John Mayer; I, I'm saddened to say, haven't listened to any of his albums forever. In fact, I'm finding rhythms and melodies for poems all over the place, but, Carley's still the person I'm dedicating them to.

If these arms
can't lift themselves
I'd hold them
up
and around you

I'd hold you
all day until
the clouds were
dark and sleep
takes us both.

And we tumble
down through
the night
and wake up
and no one
has to leave.

I'd really love to
hear
you
say
What's beautiful
about you.

You look a it in
the wrong way
it's them,
not you.

They don't know
what they're
missing,
you're the best,
they can't see that.

If only they could see
what I see,
they'd know
you're
perfect

Why don't we
go to a place
That they don't
know
(they've never been)
Sit and watch
the stars a
while
Laugh at things
that make us
smile
Take eachother's hands
and
Lay down on the ground
and
Pretend there's nothing in
this world
but you and I
and
the
sky

I apologized too much,
asked stupid questions,
and kissed her shirt.
There were trips,
and I fell a lot
but I remember how
her hair smelled
on every day of
last year.

Every word she spoke,
from her blue-blue eyes
How her hands moved,
and her step,
I'll never forget
why I fell so
much.

Still got me
tripping
over words.

You make me
feel like
a guy in some old film
who never knows
just what to say
but keeps on
trying anyway

Because he loves the way
your hair
looks
on a bright day.

To see your smile
Wash day from
night

Your eyes like
rain on the
glass

And hold you
here under
stars.

Watch you walk
along the
water
of an empty
beach
at four in the
afternoon

Time and time
again
You remind me
You are the
one for me.
But I can't,
I can't and I don't
wish for
anything
better.
