Read this one to the tune of Three Doors Down's Down Poison. I haven't written in a long, long time, and it feels good to be back in the groove.
"Welcome to my world," I said.
"Will you touch my soul?" I said.
"Hold me near you, love." you said.
"I will change your life." you said.

I was listening to Sting's Desert Rose when this one came into my head.
I think of time
You're there
all the way.
* * *
I dream of life
And I can't
dismiss
you.
* * *
To you I make
this sacred
commitment.
* * *
For your love I'd
stay for
all time.

This one just plain old came to me. I'm not sure what it's about...maybe something, maybe nothing. No, probably nothing, I'm not exactly an in depth dude.
Define the world through your
happiness
And hide
From what really
stings
* * *
Lack lustre
it tries
to divide you up
to decide for you
the next path you take in life.
* * *
Your world, your mind
It's real and tangible
You can't hide whenever you can't face it
Choose your life

Platonic
At the time I wrote this one (it came to me because I'd been listening to The Space Between by the Dave Matthews Band for, like, six hours)I had said that it really didn't reflect any part of my life. Now it does, and I like it even more.
Maybe
you can't
for
give me
for all the
l
i
n
e
s
I've
crossed
* * *
But I'm glad
you're
here
with me
whenever I
get
lost

Ah...religion.
All this talk of salvation
But where is your hero now?
Been gone for quite some time,
Best to mingle here and enjoy

I saw you standing there
Out in the cold
night air
and thought,
"I wonder if I would stand a chance."
* * *
The thought would not
be dismissed
And opportunity not
to miss
I got out and gave you
a piece of
me
* * *
Nearly broke into tears,
Quelling all my fears
inside.
You looked at me and you
replied.
* * *
"Yes," you said. "My dear."
A single, solitary tear
ran down.
You just said you'd marry me.

I've seen the sun go down,
I've seen the hero drown,
A symbolism far too harsh.
* * *
I've seen the decade end,
Like children without their friends,
I wonder how we got this far.
* * *
So many forgotten souls,
As if they were two-year-olds,
Yet so many, they live on.
* * *
Live here, live now.
How could you ever think I'd want to go?
Live here, live now.
The world can cater to everyone.
* * *
I've seen the wars we've fought,
Sometimes losers, sometimes not,
We're where we started at the end.
* * *
I've seen the forests fall.
To make room for a mini-mall.
I can still see where they were.
* * *
Live here, live now.
How could you ever think I'd want to go?
Live here, live now.
The world can cater to everyone.
