Numbering more than a thousand, these hill formations in Bohol are one of the country's most fascinating and spectacular scenes. No one can say whether they are natural or manmade but they seem to have been there since the beginning of time. Their appearance changes according to seasons. Their coating of grass turns green during the rainy season and brown during the dry season, like giant chocolate drops. Thus the name chocolate hills was formed.
