The beach of Kyra Panagia is located in the east of the island of Karpathos, about 14 kilometers from the capital Pigadia. It is named after the beautiful Kyra Panagia church with its red dome that stands in the village. The beach can be reached via a good road that leads to the village and the beach of Kyra Panagia via the old capital of Aperi. The route over the last 4.5 kilometer downwards is not real easy for people that are afraid of heights, but it is doable (there are guardrails and the road is asphalted).
