There are two beaches named Agios Nikolaos beach on the island of Karpathos. One of them is located a little to the south of the village of Arkasa in the south-west of the island and the other beach called Agios Nikolaos (described here) is located on the east side of the island four / five kilometers east of the village of Spoa. The road leading from Spoa to Agios Nikolaos is winding but asphalted. Yiu drive through beautiful nature with views over the sea.

Agios Nikolaos itself is a small village with two small beaches. On one of them are some umbrellas and sunbeds for rent and there are a few tavernas. Around the beach there are some trees that offer shade. The second beach is nit organised. Both beaches are pretty quiet, but during the high season and on the weekends (when the Greeks are free) it can get more busy. There is generally not a lot of wave action. The sea is almost very calm all the time.

The mountains that surround the village of Agios Nikolaos protect it somewhat against the wind. From Agios Nikolaos there are boat trips to the surrounding beaches that cannot be reached over land.
