The incarnation of Dilgo Kyentse Rinpochee... At the
Shechen Monastery, Nepal

After 18 years, I met him again. It was a special moment in my life, as was the first time we met, and how we found Him... The story I wrote a few years before on this website. In short, we had to find a man in Katmandu, hold our hands in a hand mudra, and he would find us....This was in 1989. Now, this time, asking around for him, or his incarnation, I was told he was in India, or maybe at Swayambunath... Just the last day, before going back to Holland, I decide to take my chance, and go to Bodhanath, and look for His monastery. I found it, and met Him again, for no clear reasons, no intentions, no questions. We, my daughter Tischa and I, just walked in the room, like I did with my friend Charya, 18 years before. He sat in the same position as I remember him, his hands are getting the same proportions...

   He asked if I was practicing Buddhism, who was my teacher, and if I practiced breathing techniques. I told Him how I got to Him before, how my friend looked for Him, my teacher who was His pupil in His previous life, the hand mudra... I felt a bit awkward, as if this young man needed more friendship and some nice toys, rather than getting so much into spiritual conversation, although He was very interested... I am sure I am going to meet Him again, this time I will be better prepared...
