ShanT's World.....passing through yet another story...

I tried to start a business in hand made cotton paper. The factory was in Poona, Pune, and everyone in and around the Ashram was using it. It was cheap, so I started importing it with an Indian friend, Massood. Of course things went wrong. The first time we paid cash, but the second time it went through an Indian bank. The bank kept the money for 8 months, before paying it to the factory. The third order was suddenly twice as expensive. And my partner chose to order only blocks, instead of spreading the risk and take paper sheets also, as we agreed before... Any way. it is still a beautiful experience, and a nice story to tell...

The cotton is put in a basin, with the glue, and mixed thoroughly.

Finally the fine pulp gets into this basin, where it is scooped out into a frame with a metal maze. Light shaking spreads the cotton in the frame, after which it is lifted -

Then the paper is hung on lines to dry. You can see it in the paper sheets, in the structure, where the line was...
