Blackout
to Blackout for Season
Submitted

It has been decided by Rob, Dave,
Paul and myself (the committee!) that we would be best to sit out a
season and give the game a rest as we gather our senses and determine
what direction we want the team to take from this point on. A move
seemingly welcomed by most but it is yet to be seen how the new players,
Matt and Geoff, take to the news. It is unfortunate that this should
have to come to this but due to shortage of players and the drop in
enthusiasm from everyone in general we saw the need to simply have a
long break.
As for the shed, I will not be lying about doing
nothing. Any news breaks will be posted here as per usual. So when the
Blackout are geared up to go at the nets again you'll be all up to date
right here in the Shed. A committee meeting shall be held in place of
the match tomorrow to help build the foundation of a new plan for the
oncoming challenges ahead! |

Invited to Inter Centre Challenge

Challenges are a weekly thing for
most teams but this one is a challenge that is to be accepted as an
honour and a half! Sports World (the kind and generous chaps that make
sure the lights all are in working condition and that the umpires are
not on the take!) have put down the gauntlet to all Grand Finalists from
both the Peakhurst & Liverpool centres to determine once and for all
which is the best sports centre? It's enough to get Big Kev
excited and quite frankly I'm all abuzz for this one! I'm even going to
buy new sneakers for the occasion!
Winners will be crowned the Champions of Sports World.
They will also receive prizes along with being able to gloat about being
the best with drinks and a BBQ after the match! So our quest is to
muster up the 8 champions who got us here to this great game and have
them free the 23rd March, 2002 to take part in what will be a much
talked about match! |
Two New Players For Autumn 2002 Season

Great news to head into the new
season with. After a great win in the Grand Final we lost Blackout
wicket keeper, Big Pete and were still without an eight permanent
player. But now we have two new players to make up what will hopefully
be our permanent line up. Matthew (who lives in the same unit as me)
will be playing at the teams first game this Tuesday. Also the centre
has come up with a player for the side whose name is still a mystery. Interesting
times ahead for the side and great to see the Blackout steam engine
still roaring! |
