Players Needed!

If there are any potential players out there who see themselves wanting to play indoor cricket with us come this July onwards then please contact us here at the Blackout.

The Team

These are the brave few who put their beer guts on the line to preserve the wooden spoon team's honour! Just a note to all players. If you can't make to a game then please let us know at least the day before the match.

Unfornately Pete has had to depart from our team to continue playing for the Skrotes.

It has been known for the whole centre to run when he calls a run! Big Pete (or Fabio to his ladies) is one of the longest serving players in the centre (much like Rob & Dave) and is lead captain for what could almost be referred to as our sister team, The Skrotes.

After a short "time out" from the sport I have been bought back into the squad. Rob has promised to "retire" my position (the pit) if I were to leave for good! Don't count on that happening anytime soon!

*We are looking into recalling Tall Pete into the squad.

His bowling style has to be seen to be believed. It looks like an easy six... that is until you swing at it! We are currently unsure as to whether we'll have Tall Pete for the new season but we surely hope he goes another round!

With all these Pete's in the side there just had to be one Paul! Paul's bowling really has gone from strength to strength. There was doubt, recently, as to the power and ability of young Paul. But when the challenge was put to Paul to produce the results he not only responded to our satisfaction, he in fact slammed down the gauntlet so hard that the centre is still feeling the shock!

Playing He captained the side in the Back From the Brink season to a Grand Final win in the Division 3 comp. Now we are to step up the anti and move into Division 2. Should be interesting to see how he manages the migration. More importantly, how he copes with what could be an ever changing line up.

Playing The "face of indoor cricket" has signed another lucrative deal with the Blackout so our future is beginning to look very rosy indeed! When not trying to pick up women at the Mortdale Inn, Dave is working on his spin. He's the guy with the glasses who fields in close. Smart guy that one! Dave actually bowled a guy out once but that's another story!

*Unavailable due to mum's cooking a lamb roast?.

Andrew is one of Blackouts founding players but has been missing for some time now. However a comeback has been mentioned and we may see him return yet. Rumours have it that this time when he says he will play in the team again he actually will go ahead and do just that! Let's see what happens.

Playing It was suggested that we install vines in the courts to be able to swing to those balls heading for a six. We put Tim up the back instead! Not only is he a gem of a fielder he swings a mean bat too. Which is why we put him in for the opening pair for just about most matches.

Playing Man of few words. Col has the ability to enforce his point via the cricket bat. When paired along side Tim in the opening pair you'd be wanting to be on our side! Thank god he uses this ability for good and not evil. Or does he?

*Subject to game times clashing with Grumpy Old Men

Ever since Mario left the Tuesday night indoor cricket scene (many moons ago) Rashid has taken over the role as centre cricket slut as there is hardly a side he is yet to play for! Wild swinger of the bat, Rashid doesn't have a block in his repertoire of batting shots! Can always be relied upon for an amazing catch when you least expect it!

Playing New to the side for the Autumn 2002 season comes Matt who has played some rep indoor in his time. One things for sure. That speed ball of his is one weapon that will be snaring many There maybe a problem after the game with Matt in the pub as this guy is a Crown Lager drinker. We'll have to convert him to our beloved Black!
