Blackout began life back in 1988 in the same centre we play in today. We were
originally under the name of "Hit 'N' Run". A year later that
name was changed to Blackout for reasons that were once explained to me but due
to too many Toohey's Old in the Inn next door have left my memory. Rob is the
only surviving member since them dark old days. Perhaps one day he may offer
something in the way of an insight to our long and ever changing
history.
Today we resting a season after a terrific Grand
Final win (the team's 2nd ever) and hope to move onward with our winning streak
in the new season a few months from now.
A challenge considering the re-shuffling of players. Only two members of our team (Rob & Dave) still have their
original uniforms and they show their age as the black has become very grey
(like their owners?). We will be soon seeking sponsors and are looking forward
to a new era in the team's history!
Rob will
hopefully be putting together a more
detailed description of our dark past and also treat us to a run down on Hit 'N'
Run's very first match! Also a list of players that have contributed to
Blackout
