Task

                    You and your fellow audience members, because of your special knowledge of the Harlem Renaissance, have been invited to cast your vote for which writer should win the Harmon Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.  Your task is to analyze each nominee's life, work, and contribution to African American culture, particularly during the Harlem Renaissance and then decide which one of the nominees you think should receive this honor.  Your next challenge is to convince your fellow Apollo audience members to vote for your Harlem Renaissance figure by writing and presenting a persuasive speech.
