There is a tingle of excitement as you and your  friends enter the Apollo Theater, a place known in Harlem for its showcase of African American talent.  Tonight is a special night;  in addition to listening to jazz greats, you will be hearing from some of the prominent writers of the Harlem Renaissance who have gathered together to tell some of their stories, sing some songs, and perform poetry.  While they are not all stage performers, these writers will be honored this special night by the Harmon Foundation for their contributions to African American literature and culture, and you are invited to be a part of the show!
