Halloween Redwall Style
Yes, it's that wonderful time of year again. Halloween. We get to watch scary movies and eat hordes of candy. And what better time to show off your obsession than Halloween? Here's some tips on bein' a Redwallish character:

Ok, you've choosen your animal, now to give him a face. Let's use a hare as an example. Ears are one of the most vital things on a hare, at most stores you can buy rabbit ears or something similar, or you can cut out paper ears. Now the face is probably one of the more difficult parts. Get your mom, or dad, or just use a mirror to put Animl features on your face. I suggest that you don't cover you whole face with paint, but I guess it's you costume. Use a pink color and put a dab on the end of your nose. Wiskers can be done by putting black streaks on your face, extending out from your nose. If you want to add stripes or markings, go ahead, just don't put to much on, or it'll look to cluttered.

What about your body? Well you won't have to make a full body suit, fortunatly. Redwallers and other beasts where tunics, so you canmake a tunic, or some people make there characters wear more normal clothes. I suggest, unless you live somewhere hot, that you try and where something long-sleeved, other wise your arms will show.

Weapons! If your not a peaceful beast your gonna want to make or buy a weapon. You can but most weapons, like swords and daggers, at a place like Toys "R" Us, or whatever general store you have in your area. You can also cut out cardboard swords and daggers. If you want a bow, you might not want to carry around the arrows all night, so consider that.

Another key element in an animal are his/her claws. You can buy finger nails that are supposed to be for witch costumes at most costume stores, but they kinda look like claws. A good way to make paws are gloves. Preferably a brown or black color, you don't want blue paws, unless your some tye-die animal.

If you want an alternative costume you'll need 3 cardboard boxes and a lot of red construction paper. You'll need to cut eye holes in one of the cardboard boxes, then stack them. Then cut out a triangular ardboard piece for the top, cover in in red paper and TADA! a walking talking Redwall Abbey.

So, go out there and show your Redwall Pride! And send me some candy if possible. So have fun! And Happy Halloween!!! And don't forget to take this month's Halloween Poll!
