Genie is the English term for the Arabic (Jinn). In Latin, Genie means genius. In pre-Islamic Arabian mythology and in Islam, a Jinni (also "Djinni" or "Djini") is a member of the Jinn (or "Djinn"), a race of spirits made of fire and smoke. Types of Jinn include the Ghul ("night shade", which can change shape), the Sila (which cannot change shape), the “Afrit“, and "Marid". From information in The Arabian Nights, Marid seem to be the strongest form of Jinn, followed by Afrit, and then the rest of the Jinn. The feminine form of Jinn is "Jinniyah" or "Jinneyeh". Jinns can possess people, by entering their body. The Jinn are said to be spirits with free will…made from “smokeless fire”. The Jinn have communities much like human societies, and they live in tribes and have boundaries in dimensions/spiritual planes. They have the same ranks in armies as humans do. Jinns are beings much like humans, possessing the ability to be good and bad. An "Afrit" is a type of strong and powerful Jinn. Evil or malicious Jinn are called "Marid"; usually, they are malicious due to their feeling that they have been usurped/missed used by humans. Jinn have the power to transform into other animals and humans, and they are known to prefer the form of a snake. Because they are made of fire, they can appear in any color.
King Solomon was known to have dealt with Jinns. From missuse of the Jinns, he became a very wealthy and powerful king. King Solomon was also known to had the ability to communicate with the Jinns. It was King Solomon who construct magical rings to bind the Jinns within to be later summoned from it’s captivity to “grant wishes of desires” to it’s summoner (master/mistress). According to legend and folklore, Kind Solomon wished the Jinns to bring him riches and treassures from unknown hidden places and then instruct them to build his many splendid palaces made of gold and gems. As the ole’ saying: “…Be careful what you wish for”…this in itself King Solomon was later told by the Demon “Asmodeus” that his reign over them and the other Jinns is for a short time….which King Solomon later found out and later regretted it.
Here are the words of King Solomon when King Solomon arrogantly asked Asmodeus the question…“Who art thou?”
Asmodeus angrily shouted back at King Solomon with rage saying…“And WHO art thou?!" Why shall I answer thee, for thou art just a son of man; whereas I was born an angel's seed by a daughter of man, so that no word of our heavenly kind addressed to the likes of a mere human earth man. So ask me not many things; for thy kingdom also after a little time is to be disrupted, and thy glory is but for a season. And short will be thy tyranny over us; and then we shall again have free range over mankind, so as that they shall revere us as if we were gods, not knowing, men that they are, the names of the angels set over us."
King Solomon wrote many books (which is today considered as Occult texts known and practiced by many Magickians of today) about the Jinns, how to construct the magical rings, how to contain the Jinn, how to summon the Jinn…and most importantly…how to have your “wishes of desires” granted. Usually these wishes granted are of three. Some Jinns are also known as tricksters…meaning: once summoning the Jinn from it’s captivity the master/mistress must be VERY CAREFUL of asking their wishes. Usually upon the third wish the mistress/master must release the Jinn…set it free. Jinns are not fond of being held against their will, and once being summoned the Jinn will find ways of being released. Once the Jinn know who their mistress/master is and let’s just say…the mistress/master do not let them free…the Jinn one day WILL find another mistress/master and when they are set free they do tend to look for those mistresses/masters who had held them captive and who did not set them free. So, once someone come in touch with a real Jinn which is held in captivity (most are held in rings, bottles, lamps, precious gems/rubies/obsidians, mirrors, and crystals) the person must be careful of letting out (summoning) the Jinn to ask for wishes…and when upon the third wish…do wish the Djinn free by saying “I wish you free from your captivity to go in peace“. Doing so will let the Jinn know that you are understanding of their captivity and that you are a good soul with good intentions…the Jinn would go in peace and at the same time…the Jinn can also be your protector in life if you are faced with danger…they would be returning a favor to you for setting them free.
