2008-2009 Turkish Soccer POOL
The game is open to everybody. You can join any time.
How to play:
Fill out the identification section by entering a nickname, real name, e-mail address, and the city you live.
Enter 1 for a Home team win, 2 for an Away team win, and 0 for a Draw.
Pick one of the game as your joker game. The points you gain from that game will be doubled.
Click the "Submit" button.
Evaluation of the predictions:
3 points for a correct prediction of a home team win.
4 points for a correct prediction of an away team win
5 points for a correct prediction of a draw.
Correct prediction of a game you selected as a joker doubles the points you win for that game.
Some Additional Rules:
1 - Predictions can be done anytime during the week. A prediction submitted for a game will not be accepted if that game has started already. If you miss any of the games, you can still make predictions for the games which have not started yet.
2 - You can predict more than once during the week and change some of your predictions. If you make predictions more than once in a week, your last picks will be accepted.
2008-2009 POOL Leagues
Two new games will start at the second half of the season POOL Leagues and the POOL Cup.
There will be one top level league "POOL Süper Lig" and two second level leagues "POOL 1.Lig - Group A and POOL 1. Lig Group B". There will be 18 players in each league, so max 54 players can play the league games.
Top 18 from the POOL Overall Standings after Week 17 will join the top level league and the next 36 will join the second level leagues. Players will play each other once and the leagues will be completed after 17 weeks.
There will be relegations and promotions in league games.
The bottom 4 at POOL Süper Lig will be relegated to POOL 1. Lig.
Top two in each group of POOL 1. Lig will be promoted to POOL Süper Lig and bottom three will be relegated off the leagues.
6 new players will be accepted to start the second level at the beginning of a new league period.
The winner will gain 3 matchpoints at each game and the loser 0. If you tie, you will get 1 point each.
The leagues will start at Week 18.
2008-2009 POOL Cup
Anybody who predicts at Week 20 will be eligible.
If there are more than 64 players, the cup games will start at Week 20. If there are more than 32 players, then the games will start at Week 22, and so on.
The games will be played as two legged knockout competition on two consecutive weeks.

The Prizes
Starting from this year the competition winners will win prizes.
5 winners (Turkish Soccer POOL, POOL Süper Lig, POOL 1. Lig - Group A, POOL 1. Lig - Group B, and POOL Cup) will win a football book from www.kitapyurdu.com. If a player wins more than one competition, he will be entitled to win only one prize.
The winners will select the book they want by going to the bookstore address and selecting a book from there. Unfortunately all the books are in Turkish language at the bookstore.
Weekly e-mails
You will get a weekly e-mail from the POOL, which give a brief summary from the last week. This will also will be useful to remind you to send in your picks for the next round.
