Non-Smoking Page

Quit Smoking Stuff Page

I quit smoking on July 20, 1998 with the help of Zyban (Wellbutrin SR) and a tremendous group of people in a number of support groups that can be found below in my links. It's the best thing I've ever done for myself and I hope it is my final quit. It's grrrrrrreat!!

When I initially quit smoking, my greatest support came from the just4u board. It was "inhabited" by one of the most friendly, quitsmart group of people. The board was transferred to southbeachfriends dot com, which eventually died due to lack of Admin support. Now those nomad quitters have found a *new* home. Come on by for awesome support and fun

I found this at the just4u stop smoking support group:

Until one is commited there is always hesitancy,
the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness.
Concerning all acts of creation there is one elementary
truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans:
the moment one definitely commits oneself, then providence moves too.
All sorts of things occur to help that would never otherwise have occured.
A whole stream of events issues from the decision,
raising to one's favour all manner of unforeseen accidents and meetings and material assistance
which no man could have dreamed would come his way.
Whatever you can do or dream you can, begin it.
Boldness has genius, power and magic in it.

Some more quitter's wisdom:

Triggers are what you let them be, how much you feed them, how big you let them grow. It's a weed...nip it.

Some play with a quit and give up never to return,
others fail and get back up
only to keep quitting till they succeed.

THE QUIT
Some want it
Some think they want it
Some think they do it
Some do it.

Thoughts from a fellow quitter and cyberpal, Dave
