Sayre coach Charles Thomas started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Isabel Pergande, 5-6 So. Roma Akhtar, 6-0 Sr. Lainey Tew, 5-2 So. Maggie Little, and 5-5 Sr. Dee Dee Wheeler. Frederick Douglass coach Shawn Ransom countered with 5-9 Jr. Destyne Jackson, 5-8 Fr. Kasia Parks, 5-9 8th Grade Allison Wallace, 5-6 8th Grade Timothi Williams, and 5-7 Fr. Niyaune Gentry.
Frederick Douglass outscored Sayre 21-4 in the third quarter on their way to a 49-42 victory. Frederick Douglass shot 32.8% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Broncos connected on five of 11 free throws, pulled down 40 rebounds, and scored 26 points off 27 Sayre turnovers. Sayre shot 31% from the field including two of 13 from beyond the arc. The Spartans connected on 14 of 23 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 23 Frederick Douglass turnovers.
Destyne Jackson led Frederick Douglass with 29 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and six steals. Timothi Williams added 11 points, seven rebounds, and two steals.
Dee Dee Wheeler led Sayre with 22 points including seven of 12 free throws, five assists, and five steals. Isabel Pergande added seven points, eight rebounds, two blocked shots, and three steals. Lainey Tew recorded seven points and eight rebounds.
