Western coach Paul Handley started the following lineup: 6-6 Sr. Ryan Taylor, 6-4 Sr. Julian Lurry, 6-5 Sr. LaMichael Harris, 6-2 Sr. Eric Fields, and 6-2 Sr. Michael Toby. Scott County coach Billy Hicks countered with 6-4 Jr. Tamron Manning, 6-2 Jr. Isaiah Ivey, 6-4 Sr. Tanner Shotwell, 6-0 Sr. Trey Relford, and 6-4 Sr. Rob Barber.
Scott County avenged a loss in the Toyota Classic with an 88-65 victory over Western tonight. Scott County’s defense wreaked havoc tonight as they scored 47 points off 29 Western Turnovers. Scott County shot 49.2% from the field including nine of 20 from the three point line. The Cardinals connected on 19 of 25 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and held a 51-16 advantage in bench scoring. Western shot 37.8% from the field including four of 13 from beyond the arc. The Warriors connected on 27 of 41 free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 16 Scott County turnovers.
5-10 So. Quin Richardson led Scott County with 21 points including five three point baskets. 5-11 Fr. Trent Gilbert added 16 points. Tanner Shotwell and Tamron Manning chipped in with 12 points each.
Ryan Taylor led Western with 23 points including 12 of 16 from the free throw line. Taylor also pulled down 10 rebounds. Micheal Toby added 14 points.
