Model coach Ronald Preece started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Darrian Botts, 5-5 8^th grader Abby Vicars, 5-11 8^th grader Emily Jackson, 5-6 8^th grader Kasi Schneid, and 5-7 So. Hayley Hunt.  Note: 6-0 8^th grader Mallie Cornett was ill and not available tonight.  West Jessamine coach Steve Greene countered with 5-11 Jr. Ashlee Rose, 5-9 Sr. Shelby Hawkins, 5-10 Sr. Katelyn Quillen, 5-0 Sr. Kendall Anderson, and 5-5 Sr. Emma Baxter.

West Jessamine led 58-35 early in the final quarter on their way to a 67-52 victory over Model.  West Jessamine used their experience and superior strength to attack the boards and pound the ball inside against the young but scrappy Model squad.  West Jessamine shot 40.3% from the field including three of six from the free throw line and connected on six of 11 free throws.  Model shot 38.3% from the field including zero of six from the three point line and connected on six of 15 free throws. Coach Greene was able to substitute freely tonight allowing West Jessamine to wear down Model.  The victors had 10 players in the scoring column tonight.

Ashlee Rose led West Jessamine with 19 points.  5-6 So. Rachel Monell added 13 points.  Katelyn Quillen chipped in with nine points.

Hayley Hunt led Model with 27 points tonight including 21 in the second half.  Darrian Botts added 12 points.

Ryle coach Patti Oliverio started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. McKell Oliverio, 5-6 Sr. Katie Connor, 5-9 Jr. Rachael Storer, 5-7 Sr. Anna Monobe, and 5-6 Sr. Dawn Johnson.  Bryan Station coach Donna Murphy countered with 5-8 Sr. Deshante Clay, 5-11 Jr. Bairesha Gill, 6-1 Sr. Hallie Crumbie, 5-9 Jr. Lakeysha Stennis, and 5-8 Sr. Serena Sandusky.

Bryan Station captured a 40-31 victory over Ryle in a game in which neither team could find the range from the field.  The third quarter proved to be disastrous for Ryle as they were outscored 10-4.  Bryan Station shot 30.5% from the field including four of 11 from the three point line.  The Lady Defenders connected on nine of 13 from the free throw line and turned the ball over 15 times.  Ryle shot 23.5% from the field including one of 18 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Raiders connected on five of 16 from the free throw line and turned the ball over 18 times.  Ryle had several open looks from beyond the arc from their good three point shooters but the ball was often off the front rim.

Serena Sandusky led Bryan Station with 14 points.  Deshante Clay also reached double figures with 11 points.

McKell Oliverio and Dawn Johnson led Ryle with eight and six points respectively.

Perry County Central  vs.  Paul L. Dunbar

 

Perry County Central coach Randy Napier started the following lineup: 5-10 Sr. Pamela Sebastian, 5-10 Sr. Randi Carol Napier, 6-0 Jr. Kayla Rankin, 5-6 Sr. Whitney Back, and 5-4 So. Whitney Evans.  Paul L. Dunbar coach Sarah Bridenbaugh countered with 5-10 Sr. LaKeena Parks, 5-8 Sr. Lexus Edwards, 6-2 Jr. Brooke Todd, 5-4 Jr. Shakeema Jackson, and 5-4 Sr. Kierra Muhammad.

The score was tied 18-18 at halftime but Dunbar pulled away in the second half for a 48-33 victory over Perry County Central.  Dunbar was able to effectively check Perry County Central’s powerful inside presence in Kayla Rankin and held her to eight points today.  Dunbar shot 34% from the field including two of 12 from the three point line and connected on 14 of 22 free throws.  Perry County Central shot 31% from the field including zero of six from beyond the arc and connected on seven of 18 free throws.

LaKeena Parks led Dunbar today with 15 points.  Kierra Muhammad added nine points all from the free throw line.  Shakeema Jackson and Brooke Todd each recorded seven points.

Kayla Rankin led Perry County Central with eight points.  Pamela Sebastian and Whitney Back added six points each.

The score was tied 30-30 at halftime but Whitley County outscored Lafayette 24-3 in the third quarter on their way to a 66-55 victory.  Whitley County led 54-32 late in the third quarter before Lafayette cut into the lead in the final quarter.  Whitley County was deadly from beyond the arc as they were 11 of 20 from beyond the arc.

Whitley County shot 43.6% from the field including 11 of 20 from the three point line.  The Lady Colonels connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored six points off nine Lafayette turnovers.  Lafayette shot 42.3% from the field including four of 16 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Generals connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 11 points off seven Whitley County turnovers.

Maria Johnson led Whitley County with 25 points including seven three point baskets.  Brandi Smith added 22 points including three three point baskets.  Kandace Craig scored six points and pulled down seven rebounds.

Sarah Cooley led Lafayette with 15 points and nine rebounds.  6-3 So. Ashanti Thomas added 14 points, six rebounds, and two blocked shots.  Dee Givens recorded eight points, six rebounds, and five assists.

Holy Cross shot 61% from the field including one of two from the three point line.  They connected on four of seven free throws, pulled down 26 rebounds, and scored 20 points off 18 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 33.3% from the field including four of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Lady commodores connected on three of four free throws, pulled down 21 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 18 Holy Cross turnovers.

DeAsia Beal led holy cross with 20 points, five rebounds, and four assists.  Ally Mayhaus added 14 points on seven of nine from the field.  Abby Hassert chipped in with 12 points.

Oney Harrison led Tates Creek with 19 points including four three point baskets.  Katie Pippen added 11 points.  Lexi Whaley recorded five points and six assists.

Laura Szorenyi led a balanced Scott County attack with 17 points and six rebounds.  Tereka Guyn added 15 points, 13 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Audriana Christopher recorded 14 points, four rebounds, three assists, and five steals.  Rachel Young chipped in with 13 points and four steals.

Kelah Eldridge led Letcher County Central with 15 points.  Cheyanne Stidham added 12 points.  Julie Cornett pulled down 11 rebounds.

Trent Gilbert led Scott County with 21 points including three three point baskets.  Jalen Haddix added 20 points.  Haddix was nine of 13 from the field and two of two from three free throw line.  Quin Richardson chipped in with 12 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and five steals.

Sayre outscored Paris 24-9 in the second quarter on their way to a 62-45 victory.  Sayre shot 42.9% from the field including five of 11 from the three point line.  The Spartans connected on 15 of 21 free throws, pulled down 51 rebounds, and scored eight points off 10 Paris turnovers.  Paris shot 27% from the field including eight of 29 from beyond the arc.  The Greyhounds connected on 24 rebounds, and scored 18 points off 23 Sayre turnovers.

Justin Sanders led Sayre with 24 points including three three point baskets and pulled down 15 rebounds.  Quinn Pergande added 12 points and nine rebounds.  Martin Durmov recorded 11 points and 10 rebounds.

James Clark led Paris with 15 points including three three point baskets.  Jawan Dumphord added six points, six rebounds, and four steals.  Kobe Garrard and 5-6 So. Jamaal Washington also scored six points each.

Tates Creek coach Wayne Breeden started the following lineup: 6-4 Sr. Braxton McFarland, 6-2 Jr. Ian Davis, 6-5 So. Jordan Fucci, 5-11 So. Desmond Duke, and 6-1 Sr. Vincent Mattox.  Bryan Station coach Mike Allen countered with 6-3 Sr. Tyler Smith, 6-1 Jr. Daquice Allen, 6-3 Sr. Larry Morton, 6-0 Jr. Jordan Henry, and 6-1 Jr. Marcellous Washington. 

Bryan Station led 22-11 after the first quarter on their way to a 62-41 victory over Tates Creek.  Tates Creek only managed 16 points after the halftime intermission.  Bryan Station shot 51% from the field including four of 15 from the three point line.  The Defenders connected on six of nine free throws, pulled down six of nine free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored 21 points off 16 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 29.7% from the field including one of eight from beyond the arc.  The Commodores connected on 18 of 31 free throws, pulled down 30 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 14 Bryan Station turnovers.

Marcellous Washington led Bryan Station with 17 points including three three point baskets.  Washington was seven of 10 from the field including three of six from beyond the arc.  Larry Morton added 14 points and eight rebounds.

Jordan Fucci led Tates Creek with 15 points and 18 rebounds.  Vincent Mattox added eight points.

Paul Laurence Dunbar defeated Tates Creek by a score of 63-52.  Dunbar shot 37.7% from the field including three of 13 from the three point line.  The Lady Bulldogs connected on eight of 14 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 22 Tates Creek turnovers.  Tates Creek shot 36.5% from the field including one of four from beyond the arc.  The Lady Commodores connected on 13 of 26 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 10 points off 18 Dunbar turnovers.

Brooke Todd led Dunbar with 24 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Lexus Edwards added 17 points including three three point baskets.  Kierra Muhammad chipped in with nine points and five assists.

Katie Pippen led Tates Creek with 21 points and nine rebounds.  Oney Harrison added 12 points and Lexi Whaley chipped in with nine points and four rebounds.
