Madison Southern coach Summer Simmons started the following lineup:  5-11 Fr. Reece Estep, 5-9 Sr. Zaria Carter, 5-10 Jr. Aleigh Richardson, 5-6 Jr. Sunni Walters, and 5-6 So. Samantha Cornelison.  Madison Central Robert Cooksey coach countered with 5-10 Jr. Jekauri McKeithen, 5-7 Jr. Taleya Todd, 5-9 Sr. Logan Hudson, 5-6 Sr. Kelsey Powell, and 5-6 Sr. Madison Barnard.

 

Madison Central earned a big win tonight with a 55-48 victory over Madison Southern in a district matchup.  The score was tied five times and there were five lead changes in the game.  Madison Central shot 43.2% from the field including four of 10 from the three point line.  The Lady Indians connected on 13 of 16 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored 16 points off 17 Madison Southern turnovers.  Madison Southern shot 27.3% from the field including five of 30 from beyond the arc.  The Lady Eagles connected on seven of 10 free throws, pulled down 46 rebounds, and scored six points off 15 Madison Central turnovers.

 

Taleya Todd led Madison Southern with 20 points including two three point baskets, five rebounds, four assists, two blocked shots, and five steals.  Jekauri McKeithen added 11 points, nine rebounds, and five blocked shots.  Kelsey Powell recorded eight points, four rebounds, and three steals.  5-7 Sr. Zahrea Gill came up big tonight with nine points including four of four from the free throw line. 

 

Samantha Cornelison led Madison Southern with 18 points including three three point baskets, seven rebounds, and four assists.  Sunni Walters added 11 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds.  Aleigh Richardson recorded seven points and 14 rebounds.
