Lexington Catholic coach Scott True started the following lineup: 5-8 Jr. Maylo Given, 5-8 Jr. Jay Ballard, 5-10 Sr. Maya Jazdzewski, 5-3 Sr. Olivia Haines, and 5-6 Sr. Ashley Frebis. Wayne County coach Mark McKinley countered with 5-8 Fr. Alyssa Conn, 5-6 So. Haleigh Criswell, 5-10 8th Grade Mallory Campbell, 5-5 Fr. Jade Turner, and 5-8 Fr. Macey Blevins.
Lexington Catholic led 36-35 after three quarters and pulled away in the final quarter to defeat Wayne County by a score of 53-44. There were four lead changes and six ties in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 40.9% from the field including eight of 22 from the three point line. The Lady Knights connected on nine of 19 free throws, pulled down 34 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 15 Wayne County turnovers. Wayne County shot 37.8% from the field including three of 13 from beyond the arc. The Lady Cards connected on 13 of 25 free throws, pulled down 29 rebounds, and scored six points off 14 Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Jay Ballard led Lexington Catholic with 27 points including five three point baskets, four rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Maylo Given added 11 points and 11 rebounds.
Macey Blevins led Wayne County with 18 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two blocked shots, and three steals. Haleigh Criswell added 12 points including two three point baskets. Mallory Campbell recorded 10 points and four rebounds.
