Tennessee State University coach Dana Ford started the following lineup: 6-9 Sr. Ken’Darrius Hamilton, 6-4 Sr. Darreon Reddick, 6-9 Jr. Christian Mekowulu, 5-10 Jr. Armani Chaney, and 6-3 Sr. Delano Spencer.  Eastern Kentucky University coach Dan McHale countered with 6-7 Sr. Zach Charles, 6-6 So. DeAndre Dishman, 6-9 Jr. Nick Mayo, 5-11 Sr. Dillon Avare, and 6-2 Fr. JacQuess Hobbs.

 

Tennessee State University pulled away late to defeat Eastern Kentucky University by a score of 73-60.  The score was tied four times and there were four ties in the game.  Tennessee State shot 50% from the field including nine of 20 from the three point line.  The Tigers connected on 16 of 20 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 10 points off eight Eastern Kentucky turnovers.  Eastern Kentucky shot 41.8% from the field including six of 20 from beyond the arc.  The Colonels connected on eight of 12 free throws, pulled down 25 rebounds, and scored 13 points off 11 Tennessee State turnovers.

 

Delano Spencer led Tennessee State with 20 points including six three point baskets.  Christian Mekowulu added 19 points and five rebounds.  Darreon Reddick recorded 11 points, 10 rebounds, four assists, and three steals.  Ken’Darrius Hamilton chipped in with eight points, seven rebounds, and four assists.

 

Nick Mayo led Eastern Kentucky with 21 points including three three point baskets, six rebounds, and three steals.  Zach Charles added 17 points including two three point baskets and five rebounds.  6-4 Fr. Dedric Boyd chipped in with 10 points, three rebounds, and three assists.  DeAndre Dishman recorded nine points and eight rebounds.
