Madison Central coach Robert Cooksey started the following lineup: 5-7 So. Taleya Todd, 5-7 Sr. Blaze Pacheco, 5-10 So. Je’Kauri McKeithen, 5-5 Sr. Bailey Vanover, and 5-6 Jr. Madison Barnard. Garrard County coach Scott Latham countered with 5-8 Fr. Morgan Day, 5-7 Sr. Olivia Saylor, 5-9 So. Katy Pozzuto, 5-6 So. Madisyn Neeley, and 5-6 So. Brittany Butner.
Madison Central raced out to a 31-8 lead in the third quarter and held on down the stretch for a 43-36 victory over Garrard County. Madison Central shot 34.1% from the field including six of 17 from the three point line. The Indians connected on nine of 11 free throws, pulled down 32 rebounds, and scored 14 points off 20 Garrard County turnovers. Garrard County shot 21.1% from the field including four of 18 from beyond the arc. The Golden Lions connected on 16 of 27 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored five points off 21 Madison Central turnovers.
Madison Barnard led Madison Central with 13 points including three three point baskets and three rebounds. Blaze Pacheco also scored 13 points including two three point baskets and three rebounds. Bailey Vanover recorded four points, 12 rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Je’Kauri McKeithen chipped in with four points, six rebounds, three blocked shots, and two steals.
Olivia Saylor led Garrard County with 13 points including eight of 10 free throws and six rebounds. Katy Pozzuto added six points, eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals. Brittany Butner recorded six points including two three point baskets and five rebounds. Morgan Day chipped in with six points, four rebounds, and four steals.
