Woodford County vs. Lafayette (Girls)

Woodford County coach Steve Jaco started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Nia Jaco, 5-7 So Abby Moffett, 6-0 So. Delaney Enlow, 5-4 Sr. Peyton Rose, and 5-6 So Abbie Hudson.  Lafayette coach Allison Denton countered with 5-10 Jr. Lindi DeBilzan, 5-8 Sr. Caroline Bennett, 5-10 Sr. Tekiya Garr-Carter, 5-7 Sr. Terri Abram, and 5-8 Fr. Rylie Grantz.

 

Lafayette defeated Woodford County 67-64 in overtime.  Lafayette led 32-15 late in the second quarter but Woodford County fought back to force overtime.  Lafayette’s defense recorded 17 steals, four blocked shots, and scored 35 points off 22 Woodford County turnovers.  Lafayette shot 40.7% from the field including six of 22 from the three point line.  The Lady Generals connected on 13 of 17 free throws and pulled down 28 rebounds.  Woodford County shot 46.7% from the field including five of 15 from beyond the arc.  The Yellow Jackets connected on 17 of 18 free throws, pulled down 36 rebounds, and scored 11 points off 12 Lafayette turnovers.

 

Tekiya Garr-Carter led Lafayette with 19 points, six rebounds, three assists, and six steals.  Caroline Bennett added 17 points including five three point baskets, five rebounds, two assists, and four steals.  Terri Abram recorded 18 points, six assists, and two blocked shots.  Rylie Grantz pulled down 10 rebounds.

 

Delaney Enlow led Woodford County with 27 points including seven of eight free throws, 11 rebounds, and four blocked shots.  Peyton Rose added 13 points and three rebounds.  Abby Moffett recorded 11 points and six assists.  Nia Jaco pulled down eight rebounds.  Abbie Hudson chipped in with nine points on three three point baskets.
