Ballard coach Chris Renner started the following lineup: 6-2 Sr. Dorion Tisby, 6-2 Sr. Marshon Ford, 6-2 Sr. Delonta Wimberly, 5-9 Sr. Tyron Duncan, and 6-0 So. Lewis Richards. Henry Clay coach Daniel Brown countered with 6-2 Jr. Harris Hawkins, 6-1 Sr. Jalen Williams, 6-4 Sr. Andreus Green, 5-10 So. Marquez Warrick, and 6-0 Jr. Keaston Brown.
Ballard scored 37 points off 28 Henry Clay turnovers in a 74-66 victory. The score was tied seven times and there were 10 lead changes in the game. Ballard shot 49.2% from the field including five of 13 from the three point line. The Bruins connected on five of nine free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and held a 32-5 advantage in bench scoring. Henry Clay shot 42.1% from the field including seven of 21 from beyond the arc. The Blue Devils connected on 11 of 16 free throws, pulled down 38 rebounds, and scored 22 points off 18 Ballard turnovers.
Dorion Tisby led Ballard with 16 points and four rebounds. Delonta Wimberly and 6-2 Sr. Davis Bryant each scored 11 points. Marshon Ford recorded 10 points, five rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Harris Hawkins led Henry Clay with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and four assists. Jalen Williams added 14 points including three three point baskets. Marquez Warrick also scored 14 points including two three point baskets and four rebounds. Andreus Green recorded 12 points and 11 rebounds.
