Lexington Catholic coach Brandon Salsman started the following lineup: 6-5 Jr. Zan Payne, 6-3 Jr. TC Price, 6-7 Sr. Peter Whitman, 6-3 Sr. Blake Scott, and 6-3 Sr. Luke Johnson. Tates Creek coach Michael Allen countered with 6-1 Sr. Anthony Hardin, 6-0 So. Isaiah Allen, 6-4 Sr. Isaiah Patterson, 5-10 Fr. Amari Taylor, and 5-10 Jr. Darryl Bell.
Lexington Catholic pulled away in the second half to defeat Tates Creek by a score of 76-56. The score was tied three times and there were three lead changes in this game. Lexington Catholic shot 48.3% from the field including two of six from the three point line. The Knights connected on 18 of 35 free throws, pulled down 45 rebounds, and scored 19 points off 14 Tates Creek turnovers. Tates Creek shot 35.8% from the field including seven of 26 from beyond the arc. The Commodores connected on 11 of 14 free throws, pulled down 31 rebounds, and scored five points off nine Lexington Catholic turnovers.
Luke Johnson led Lexington Catholic with 31 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Zan Payne added 23 points including nine of 11 free throws, 10 rebounds, and three assists. Peter Whitman chipped in with seven points and nine rebounds.
Isaiah Patterson led Tates Creek with 33 points including three three point baskets, 10 rebounds, and five blocked shots. Isaiah Allen added 10 points.
