SIUE coach Paula Buscher started the following lineup: 5-10 Jr. Elina Berzina, 5-9 Jr. Donshel Beck, 5-11 Jr. Gwen Adams, 5-5 So. Nakiah Bell, and 5-8 Jr. Lauren White.  EKU coach Chrissy Roberts countered with 6-1 Sr. Jalen O’Bannon, 5-11 Sr. Shavontae Naylor, 6-3 Jr. Madison Wood, 5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill, and 5-8 Sr. Alexus Cooper.

 

Eastern Kentucky University defeated Southern Illinois University Edwardsville by a score of 75-63.  EKU shot 47.1% from the field including five of 16 from the three point line.  The Colonels connected on six of seven free throws, pulled down 37 rebounds, and scored 23 points off 21 SIUE turnovers.  SIUE shot 39.6% from the field including one of nine from beyond the arc.  They connected on 20 of 22 free throws, pulled down 33 rebounds, and scored 12 points off 18 EKU turnovers.

 

5-11 So. Abby Wright led a balanced EKU scoring attack with 16 points including two three point baskets and seven rebounds.  Alexus Cooper added 14 points and four rebounds.  Shavontae Naylor recorded 13 points, nine rebounds, six assists, and two steals.  Jalen O’Bannon also reached double figures with 10 points and six rebounds.  Madison Wood added eight points, seven rebounds, and three blocked shots.  5-5 Sr. Mariah Massengill contributed eight points, six assists, and two steals.

 

Lauren White led SIUE with 16 points and four rebounds.  Gwen Adams added 11 points including nine of 10 free throws.  Elina Berzina chipped in with 10 points.  Donshel Beck recorded nine points, eight rebounds, and five steals.
